Publishing Solution Manager
Mission : Responsible for an organization and methods department, in charge of managing several publishing projects:
Means : - Participation in the migration of a new web based publishing platform;
- Participation in the development of an industrial publishing project for the Journaux officiels printing works;
- Development of a multimedia department, in charge of the creation and administration of the corporate web site (Internet and Intranet);
- Color magement project;
- Setting up of a new prepress department.
Project Manager
Mission : In charge of advising design and publishing professionals on the management of their project and conducting audits of international dimensions. Keeping up with technological innovations
Means : Participation in the international market research project commissioned by Adobe Systems regarding a comparison between a publishing setup based on the Adobe Creative Suite, and a QuarkXPress-based workflow.
Appraisal : Participation in the publication of 5 individual reports with key findings and recommendations on the complete research results.
In progress: "InDesign Migration Strategies" report.
Publishing Solutions Analyst
Pearson Group UK, publishing company of international dimensions (Penguin Group and Dorling Kindersley).
Mission : In charge of advising the Publishing Solutions Manager on the feasibility study to migrate to InDesign 2.0 and Mac OS X.
Means : Introduction and training in project management techniques recommanded by the Project Management Institut (PMI), and tools for workflow modeling.
Planning of all phases of the migration project life cycle.
Feasibility study: ROI calculation.
Appraisal : "Methodology" and "Vision an Scope" deliverables submitted to the Steering Committee.
Senior Production Manager
Reader’s Digest France, publishing company of international dimensions
Mission : 1) Team Leader of 7 Production Managers:Accountable for the general books, illustrated series, reading series and monthly magazine production.
2) European Co-ordinator for Reader's Digest France
Means : Implementation of new prepress technologies for all books and magazine production (Computer To Film and Computer To Plate).
Production managers training regarding new process associated with PDf workflows, supervised by the prepress engineer.
Appraisal : 100% of RD books printed in CTP with a PDF workflow.
Technical Printing Adviser
Voluntary Service Overseas
Mission : 1) Accountable for the Comorian Government Publication Office Reorganization.
2) VSO worker in "Comoros Media Support" project within the "Al-Watwan" local newspaper.
Means : Drawing up of a list of materials to implement and conditions of installation (Macintoshes and offset press).
Management and training all staff in every stage of the graphic production line.
Appraisal : Support for the technical study in cooperation with UNDP (United Nations for the Developments Programs) on rationalization about printing means in the Comoros.
